Howling at the Den

The wind was indeed howling through Crooked River Ranch on May 16-17, but 67 players survived the sprawling 27-hole layout at Coyote’s Den for the first-ever Howling at the Den tournament. 

Tournament director Mike Ruzicka and assistant Jim Tobish, along with several volunteers, put in dozens of hours of course work for the event. Nine temporary holes were added, and several new teepads and pin placements were used. Wind was a major factor all weekend.

In MPO, Jason Lawson took the W after a back-and-forth battle with Scott Withers. In MP40, Shea Babich tied Andy Wade with a clutch putt on the 54th hole, then won the first playoff hole. 

Other winners include Katie Maixner (FPO), Jeff Cox (MP50), Sharon Jenkins (FP50), Tyler Simpson (MA1), Johnny Brown (MA40), Allen Heinly (MA50), Robert Rhoads (MA60), and Dylan Erickson (MA2). 

Tim Lindskoog aced Hole 1D in Round 1, taking the $106 ace pot.
